Teac Tom Services are Vital

The Thomas Hayes Trust CLG charity was established in February 2014 by Angela Hayes, her children, family and friends. After tragically losing her son and husband to suicide, Angela turned her tragedy into becoming a community activist when she realised the suffering within the community experienced by others in similar circumstances. She hoped that no family would ever feel the pain that her family had experienced.
In October 2015, the doors were opened to Teac Tom (Tom’s House) on Ormonde Road in Kilkenny. This charity offers a safe and welcoming space in the heart of the community for people to access affordable and immediate mental health services. The atmosphere in the house is warm and inviting where people can feel assured that they will be listened to and supported.
Angela is an inspiration to all women as she works tirelessly to expand and promote her charity by speaking at events and fundraising for her charity. She recognises that there is an ever-growing demand for mental health services in Ireland.
As well as offering counselling services, Teac Tom has a 24/7 helpline, a walk-in listening service and a mobile support unit.
